A few people have requested a list of handy tips and guidance for your upcoming photo shoots so here’s a few that we’ve found useful:
1. Make a list of moves that you’ve done before and are comfortable holding. Bring it with you on the day so you can remember those all important poses. You could try variations of moves you’ve chosen, thinking about which angles you prefer and where to focus your gaze.
2. Bring a costume or outfit for your shoot. From experience, I’d recommend putting on the more complex outfit first so getting changed is quicker midway through the shoot. As a guideline, choose a maximum of 2 costume changes for a 30 min shoot, 3-4 for 1 hr and so on. Planning which outfits go with certain moves should save you time on the day. Always bring a spare outfit and shoes just in case. If it is an outdoor shoot and there is a chance of it being cold, bring a blanket.
3. Bring water, a hand towel and snacks. Holding poses (even just standing) is surprisingly tiring!
4. Bring any make up and hair styling products you may want in case you need to re-touch during the shoot.
5. Arrive at least 15 mins early to warm up and prepare.
6. Remember to cool down after your shoot.
7. Don’t crash diet a week beforehand and be sure to eat before your shoot. We want you to arrive feeling happy and full of energy ready to smash those poses.
8. Don’t panic if you have bruises or marks. That’s what photoshop is for!
9. It’s your shoot so be as creative and individual as you like. We love hearing all of your ideas and watching them come to life!! Please feel free to contact us prior to your shoot to discuss your ideas, that way we can get a better understanding of what angles will be best for the shots.
10. If you’re doing a pole photo shoot, make sure you don’t moisturise on the day of your shoot. We don’t want any slippy Susan’s!
11. It pays to be organised! Practice what you want to do for your shoot including what you want to do with your hands and facial expressions. We can also help you with positions on the day.
12. Last but most importantly, relax and enjoy the experience! Your photos will turn out so much better when you’re feeling positive and relaxed so we will do everything we can to put you at ease and help you enjoy every minute. If you have any questions at all prior to the shoot, please just ask.
